Shepherd plaid

A blanket that has a story to tell. This 100% natural blanket uses undyed wool to create the famous contrast check. These were traditionally used to protect both the shepherd and his lambs, providing them with warmth in the border hills, a garment for carrying supplies and a blanket for sleeping at night.

We are proud to offer this blanket today as it was made in the 19th century. The pattern was so popular that Sir Walter Scott commissioned a pair of trousers in this design!

Our lambswool sweaters should be hand washed cold.

The picnic blankets should be wiped with cold water.
